Use the Right Products

Get a Cleaning Kit
If you don’t have one, buy a gun cleaning kit. This is a perfect starting “package” for the new gun owner to ensure proper care of your firearm and it’s usually cheaper than buying products individually. Most kits include the needed cleaning products, along with a cleaning rod, brushes, jags, and loops.
Clean Your Gun Often
Clean your gun as often as you use it – literally. Clean it every single time you use it; it may sound excessive, but it gets you in the habit of knowing how important it is and becomes routine. Even if you can’t do a full thorough clean each and every time, be sure to at least use a bore snake for a quick clean.
